In the prior post I mentioned that the impetus for bringing this event to Georgetown, TX began with participating in the Field of Honor® in Murrieta, CA. However, I must add that the original inspiration came from having a daughter that is a 14-year veteran as a Navy Corpsman and Master Training Specialist. She has served, and continues to serve our country most admirably. Also, my brother is a retired Battalion Chief from the L.A County Fire Department. Knowing the needs of veterans and first responders through their experiences ignited my motivation and passion to present this opportunity to my Rotary Club in Georgetown. Fundraising and event organizing has been a part of my repertoire for many years. But having military and first responders so near and dear to my heart makes this experience exceptionally meaningful.

Below is my daughter and my brother next to the flags I bought and dedicated to them at the Murrieta Field of Honor®. Thank you, Jen and Kelly, for serving our country in your respective roles. You are MY heroes!
